The onePOS software is hard coded to have an item with the name "UP" be displayed as an up arrow. This is typically used as a prepend for screengroups that contain alcoholic beverages as an up-charge button.
If you need more information on prepends and size levels, view the Related Articles section at the end.
Item Setup
- The main determining factor is the name being "UP" within the name box under merchandise > modify merchandise in the general tab.
- When you first set the item name, you may notice the button displays as blank due to the arrow only displaying as yellow and blending in with the yellow of the button itself - with the arrow only allowed to be seen when it is selected

- To remedy this, you can change the color via merchandise > modify merchandise in the screens tab from the color drop-down menu. Note that you'll have to change it for each screengroup.
- For this example, I changed the color to Veg Mod from the drop-down menu. Any option will work.
- You will also see in the next step how you can adjust the colors in these groups.
Color Groups
- You can change color setups via manager console Merchandise > Color Groups
- You will then see the same list of options that appeared in the drop-down menu from the modify merchandise menu in the screens tab. You can select an option then select Edit
- You can then change the foreground and background colors - Backround representing the color of the button itself, and foreground representing the color of the text on the button.
- For prepends, these colors will reverse to show a button is selected (as seen in the selected and not selected pictures above)
- Once changes are made, be sure to click OK. If you do not immediately notice changes in the terminal software, you can sign in with a manager card / number and select reload now in the bottom right.

Note that due to the up arrow being a picture and not text, changing these colors will not change the color of the arrow itself - it will remain yellow
No Arrow
- If you want to have the UP prepend, but do not want the button to display an arrow, adjust the item name from the first step to be anything other than "Up" in uppercase or lowercase. Examples: UPP, U P.
