Print Same Chit Twice at Same Printer

Print Same Chit Twice at Same Printer

If you want chits in a print route to come out twice (2 identical copies) at a particular printer, this is the process to follow. The whole process is done through onePOS Manager Console.

Notes
For this example, we are making chits come out twice at the Expo printer.

Manager Console Setup

1. Add Printer Type

- In manager console, navigate to Merchandise > Printer Types
- Use 'add like' from the printer type you are going to have print twice.
- For this example we are using expo, so we are creating expo 2

- Select the expo printer, then select add like

- Keep settings the same so that we can maintain printing 2 identical chits. Only thing we are changing in this menu is the name, making it Expo 2

2. Edit Print Routing

- In manager console, navigate to merchandise > print routing
- Select routing for all kitchen (or whichever route your kitchen / expo usually uses), and add Expo 2 as the next drop-down menu.

3. Edit Print Routing Schemes

- In manager console, navigate to merchandise > print routing schemes
- Select the appropriate routing scheme (could be expo, kitchen, or even default)
- In the drop-down menu next to Expo 2, select Expo

4. Relaunch

- Back in the onePOS front of house software on the terminal the printer is connected to, relaunch the program
(you can verify the attached terminal through setup > system preferences > hardware devices, select the original hardware device, select edit, and see what is selected in the 'terminal' dropdown menu)

- A relaunch can be done through manager menu (enter manager number or swipe manager card) > terminate software
- If the manager menu is inaccessible, the terminal itself can be restarted.

- After the restart, send a test order (using an item that uses the associated routing) to ensure things are working the way you want.

Alert
Anytime you modify a hardware device or printer routing, you should always relaunch the associated terminal(s) for the changes to take effect. You can also relaunch / restart terminal 1 if all else fails.

If these restarts still do not work, verify you have done the setup correctly. Additionally you can verify if there are any hardware issues.
