Support for multiple menus, which can be toggled by Dining Area, Time of Day, and Day of Week.
Example 1 (using the demo database):
• We want two of our bar areas (Bar Booth and Bar Stools) to have the Fast Bar as the default speed
menu except for Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6pm-10pm. On those nights, it will have the
normal (non-alcohol) Drinks screen as default.
• We want the Bar Tabs area to always have the Fast Bar as the default menu.
• We want all other areas to have the normal (non-alcohol) Drinks screen as default all the time.
• We will start with the demo database. This will represent a full working database you’ve created with one complete menu that has everything on it.
The first menu is "Server". Get here through manager console. Select Merchandise>Menus
Select the Dining Area you have as your main dining area on the left, and select Edit.
• Note that the initial Default Screen is Beverages. If you were to run terminal.exe and start a check in a dining area using Menu Server, that is the screen that would come up first.
• Next to that is Default (also set to Drinks). To demonstrate what this does, change it to Appetizers.
• In terminal, start a check. It will be at the Fast Bar. Ring in a few items and hit send. • Go back into the check, it is now at the Appetizer screen.
• If the Return to Default checkbox is checked, you will have one button press before it moves to the Default Menu. This can be used for quickly adding a special fee or room charge.
• Before continuing, make sure the selected Menu has Beverages set as both the Initial Default and Default menus and Return To Default is unchecked. See screenshot01 above.
• From within the Edit Menus Screen, select "Add Like" with the menu selected in blue.
• Uncheck all days except for Tue and Wed. Set the From and To times to 6:00pm and 10:00pm respectively. Change the name of the Menu to Reflect the menu you are creating.
• Click OK to enter the changes.
Dining Area Settings
• Go to Setup-Dining Areas and edit the Bar Dining Area.
• Click on the Display tab.
• Under Menus, un-hihglight Default-01
• Highlight Bar
• The system logic flows from the top down.
• Set this way, the dining area ignores Menu Default-01 completely. We leave this one
so we do not have to change all of the other non-bar dining areas.
•Bar will only be in effect during the times we set. The other times the system will drop
down to the next available Menu for that dining area.
• Click OK and do the same for the Bar dining area.
• All set. This can now be tested by running terminal and changing the day and time on the
machine.
