Throttling puts a delay between chits that will print in the kitchen. For example: Throttling is turned with a interval is 60 seconds. Two tickets ordered at the same time instead of printing at the same time, there will be a 60 second delay between between the two hits. All other chits will continue printing with the 60 second intervals. This keeps the kitchen from receiving several chits at the same time.
In MC-Setup-Courses, you can determine which Courses can be throttled via the “Throttle Print Jobs” checkbox.
Throttling is turned on from Control Printers on the FOH Manager Menu. In normal practice, choose the Expo printer (or main printer), then Throttle Printer and enter the delay time in seconds. This printer will control throttling for all the printers on the system. NOTE: The Expo printer must be the 1st printer in the list for printer routings for this to work correctly. In MC-Merchandise-Printer Routings, edit a printer routing for a printer in the kitchen. The very 1st ‘Print To’ routing MUST be Expo for throttling to work correctly.
