Printer Not Working


  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. Make sure the printer is loaded with the correct paper.
  3. Make sure the printer is securely attached to the parent device.
  4. Turn the printer off and unplug the power for 2 minutes. Then plug the printer back in and turn it back on.
  5. Reboot the software on the terminal the printer is hooked up to.
  6.  This can be done by touching “Terminate System” from the manager menu and then touching “Relaunch” on the onePOS launcher window.
  7. If the printer still does not work, you can redirect the items to a nearby printer by:
  • 1. Touch “Control Printers” from the manager menu
  • 2. Touch the printer that is not working.
  • 3. Touch the printer you wish to print from.
  • 4. Confirm where you want to redirect the printed items to by pressing “OK”
  • 5. Press “Done” in the bottom right corner.
When the printer is functional again
  1. To change the printer setup FROM being redirected to another printer TO printing normally again, touch “control printers” from the manager menu.
  2. Touch the printer you wish to return to normal operation.
  3. Touch “Normal Operation” at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Touch “OK” to confirm returning it to normal operation
  5. Touch “Done” to save and exit.


Other troubleshooting steps:
Pick another ethernet kitchen printer that is working. Go into Setup-Hardware devices and change the IP Address of the printer that is not working to the IP of a printer that is working. Restart the orderserver.

If 2 chits print on the printer that was working, then the onePOS setup is working correctly and there is a hardware problem.

If only 1 chit prints on the printer that was working, then there is a setup problem in Setup-Hardware devices.

This should help isolate where the problem lies.
