onePOS and Windows 7

onePOS and Windows 7

Is Windows 7 Supported?

The short answer to that question is that as of today, we will do our best to troubleshoot Windows 7 issues.  If the device has not been updated since before December of 2019, we will not be able to support the device, and it will require replacement. If the device can still accept updates, we will do our best to help you keep it operational.

What is happening to Windows 7 and onePOS?

Over the next 6-12 months, we will officially end support for Windows 7 as an optional operating system for onePOS.  Because Windows ended support for Windows 7 in January of 2020, Windows 7 may not have the most recent security updates needed to protect the restaurant's sensitive data and the restaurant's guest's data. Because of this, onePOS feels that the safest option for all of our clients is to use the more recent versions of Windows.  Also, by reducing the versions supported for the operating system, we are better able to enable speed of development when new features are requested or changes are needed to the software.

How is onePOS helping?

For a limited time, we are offering a replacement discount of $500.00 off of any new HK560 terminal when it is being purchased as a replacement for a Windows 7 device.  This offer is currently good through September 15, 2023.

How can I get a replacement terminal?

Click Here: To open a ticket with support.  Be sure to include the model number and serial number of the device you are wanting to get replaced.  Someone from our Internal Sales team will send an estimate to the authorized signer for the account for the discounted terminal replacement.  Once the estimate is approved, our support department will ship the terminal and schedule a time to work with a technician remotely to swap out the terminals.  If you would like your new terminal installed by a onePOS technician, that option is available as well for our standard deployment fees.
