HK560, 568, & 570 End to End connection from Printer to Terminal

The HK series terminals require a 9-Pin serial to RJ45 COM cable adapter to communicate to communicate with non-usb devices. All of our printer's communication interfaces are either serial or ethernet. For older printers there may be a 25 pin with a 25 to 9 pin cable. To connect a printer to an HK terminal the end to end communication is: Printer -> Serial Cable -> 9-Pin to RJ45 adapter -> COM port in terminal.

To ensure communication is active, make sure the COM port that is being plugged into is listed in management console for the specific printer being worked on or set up. Also within the printer setting s make sure the parameters are set correctly, these are found in a printers self test (Baud Rate, Stop Bits, Data Bits, and Parity).
