Gift Cards: Bonus Card

If a customer is doing a deal where they are selling cards with bonus amounts (ex. buy $25 get extra $5), the setup is very straightforward.

Gift Card Setup

- In manager console, go to setup > payments > gift cards
- Either create a new card or edit one of the current ones (typically customers want to track sales of the particular promo cards, if that is the case then create a new card type using 'add'

- In the settings for the card, whatever you put in the box labeled "Amount" under "Bonus Card" will be the additional value the customer will receive for purchasing the card.


- If adding a new card type, make sure it has a location by selecting "Lookup" and then selecting an open location.


- Nothing needs to be edited aside from amount. Forced card type and discount can be left blank

Warning
As of 11/27/2024, there is an error where you can't edit "comp" type, as whatever is changed in that dropdown box will not save.

Selling Gift Card

- When going to sell this type of gift card, the POS will prompt for a separate swipe for the additional amount after the card is swiped initially
- You can swipe the same card to add on the additional value, or swipe a separate card.
