If a site is looking to either install a new router or change their Internet Service Provider (ISP), there is some pre setup that must be done to ensure the terminals stay connected.
If a network tech is on site:

This method should be able to be done without assistance from a onePOS tech / support as it should essentially be plug and play.
- Let the network tech know the new router has to be putting out the same subnet as the old router. The subnet is the first 3 sets of numbers in an IP scheme. Ex: 192.168.0.101 is the IP, 192.168.0 is the subnet
- A network tech installing the router should have the knowledge on how to change the router IP.
- There are a multitude of ways to check terminal IP to determine what subnet they are on, in this instance we can use command shell
- In the windows search bar, type CMD to bring up command prompt
- In command prompt, type ipconfig and make note of the ipv4 and the default gateway, they will both show the subnet.

If the new router is putting out the same subnet as the old one, the terminals should be back to full function after a software relaunch or reboot on each terminal.
No network tech / can't change router IP:

Note for this method a onePOS tech will be needed for the last step.
- Before replacing the router, close out the onePOS software on all terminals so that only the windows home screen is showing.
- On each terminal, set the ipv4 to obtain.
- Right click the network icon in the bottom right
corner
- Select ‘network settings’
- Select the menu on the left side ‘Ethernet’
- Select ‘Change Adapter Options’
- Right Click ‘Ethernet’, select ‘properties’
- Highlight the option “Internet Protocol v4 (TCP
– ipv4)
- Click ‘properties’
- Ensure both are set to Obtain Automatically
- Run Terminal Config for each terminal with the new IP addresses. This will require assistance from onePOS support.
