Cash Drawers & How They Work

For an employee to “use” a cash drawer, they must have “Use Drawer #1” checked in their employee profile on the Security tab.

If an employee only needs to use a cash drawer sometimes, such as a cashier (needs drawer access) who also works as a server (no drawer access), use drawer 1 AND 2 MUST be checked on their employee profile, AND a manager must assign them a cash drawer before each shift.

A manager can assign an employee a cash drawer for a shift by going to the manager menu and touching “Assign Cash Drawer”, touching “Add” under drawer 1, and then touching the employee’s name.

NOTE

The ONLY time drawer #2 is actually used/assigned is when there are two cash drawers hooked up to the same terminal.

NOTE

An employee may or may not be able to use the “No Sale” function based on their security role selected in the drop box on their employee profile.

NOTE

The cash drawer may or may not open after various functions based on the system settings (such as when tips are entered, or when a server checkout is performed.)
