What is a Ghost Kitchen or Cloud Restaurant
A virtual restaurant, also known as a ghost kitchen, cloud kitchen, or dark kitchen, is a food service business that serves customers exclusively by delivery and pick-up based on phone, online ordering, or 3rd Party Apps such as GrubHub, DoorDash, etc. It is a separate food vendor entity that operates out of an existing restaurant's kitchen.
- Ghost kitchens are meal preparation facilities with no dine-in options and rely on online third-party or their own delivery services to bring food to customers. There are typically two types of ghost kitchens: one that operates in a separate kitchen-only facility and one that operates in the kitchen of an existing restaurant.
