Add Keyboard Item / Button

Add Keyboard Item / Button

If you want to add a button onto a screen that only brings up the keyboard, this tutorial will show how you how to accomplish this.

Alert
The keyboard button is different from the open item button because it will not prompt for price if we don't set it to.
For open item - Add Open Item
This button could be applied for more special or specific applications such as a uncommon food mod.
The main thing that prompts for the keyboard is the ? attached to the item name.

Adding Keyboard Item

- Use 'Add Like' from any merchandise item, give it a new name and make sure to add a question mark with no space at the beginning. (preferably ?keyboard for clarity and ease of use)

- Go through the tabs on the merchandise item and clear out any unnecesarry additions (prices, links, tax info)

- Make sure the 'prompt for price' checkbox in the general tab is unchecked.

- You can keep the other checkboxes the same depending on the location and use case.

Alert
It is helpful to keep the keyboard button in a different location (disp button) and set as a different color (color dropdown menu) to make it more distinguishable.

- If you decide to not use add like, just make sure the new item you are creating has the unattached question mark in the beginning
(ex: ?keyboard, ?special mod)
